The Ordination & Consecration of a Bishop
The Standing Committee cordially invites you to the Ordination and Consecration of Bishop-elect Kym Lucas on Saturday, May 18, at Saint John’s Cathedral at 11:00 am. Processional begins at 10:45 am.
Colorado clergy & spouses are invited to a meeting with Bishop Curry at 10:30 am, followed by a luncheon on Friday, May 17 on the Cathedral West Lawn. Detailed information and formal invitations will be sent via mail in late March. RSVP required.
There will be seating in the Nave, Dagwell Hall, and the East and West Lawns of the Cathedral.
Nave passes for lay representatives of all parishes based on 2018 convention allotted lay delegates will be mailed to each congregation. Lay representatives with Nave passes will be seated from 9:45 to 10:15 am. Lay representatives with Nave passes do NOT need to RSVP.
Reserved seating will accommodate all active clergy in The Episcopal Church in Colorado. Additional clergy seating in the Nave will be based on availability. Clergy not accommodated in the Nave will be seated in Dagwell Hall. Clergy must RSVP so that seating may be coordinated; RSVP link was sent by email.
Reserved seating for visiting Bishops, special guests of Bishop-elect Lucas, diocesan leaders and diocesan committees involved in the bishop search. Individuals in this group must RSVP so that seating may be coordinated; RSVP link was sent by email.
Reserved seating for clergy spouses, committee member spouses, and other clergy overflow will be in Dagwell Hall.
Seating for all others attending will be in the East Lawn tent, and with standing room available for additional overflow in the West Lawn tent. RSVP not required. Both tents will have a video feed of the consecration. Presiding Bishop Michael Curry will serve communion in the East Lawn tent.
The consecration will be live streamed for those who wish to view from their church gathering or their home. The link for this live stream will be available here in early May.
